Mazda Mazda3 The 2004 Mazda MAZDA3 is a 4-door, 5-passenger family sedan, or sports sedan, available in 3 trims, ranging from the i 4-Door to the s 5-Door. The 2004 Mazda MAZDA3's competitors include the Chevrolet Aveo, the Kia Spectra, and the Toyota ECHO. Upon introduction, the i 4-Door is equipped with a standard 2.0-liter, I4, 148-horsepower engine that achieves 28-mpg in the city and 35-mpg on the highway. The s 5-Door is equipped with a standard 2.3-liter, I4, 160-horsepower engine that achieves 25-mpg in the city and 32-mpg on the highway. A 5-speed manual transmission with overdrive is standard on both trims, and a 4-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is optional. The 2004 Mazda MAZDA3 is all-new for 2004.
