According to a survey of manufacturer websites, third-party automotive specification sources and consumer brochures, the all-new Isuzu i-280 and i-350 Pickups offer the longest powertrain limited warranty on any pickup truck sold in the U.S. market for the 2006 model year. Isuzu's 7-year/75,000-mile powertrain limited warranty is from two to four years longer than any other powertrain warranty offered on a 2006 model year pickup truck of any size in the U.S. The 3-year/50,000-mile basic "bumper-to-bumper" limited warranty offered by Isuzu is also 14,000 miles longer than the basic limited warranties provided by Honda, Nissan, Subaru, Toyota, Chevrolet, Dodge, Ford, or GMC. Isuzu Really needs to introduce its 3.0L Diesel into the truck lineup.
They already produce a 2.5L Diesel Version and a 4 Cylinder Gas model as well outside the US.
At least Include the 3.0L.
Another good Idea is for Isuzu to keep its D-Max Appearance and push off from the "Gm'ish" front end.
Refresh the the interior, and maybe widen the truck a couple inches.
That would make it far more competitive for interior space.
#1 Advantage for Isuzu Currently is the enormous warranty.
But what they need is "attention".. and although a great warranty is a good start, Toyota, and Nissan in particular offer more payload, HP and room than the Isuzu.
Add that Diesel and refresh the interior size, and maybe offer a 250 HP NA V6 with a 5 or 6 speed as well as a 5 speed automatic, andthe trucks will be in the same "value" level as Toyota and Nissan.
